Authors in my Writers Critique Group

E A Bundy

Picture
A prolific writer, Gene always wows us at our meetings. It's tempting to throw him out--or do better ourselves. He writes primarily middle grade and young adult fiction. His first two books are out--The Pigeon Catcher and Henrietta H. House. I can't wait until the rest of his books come out. I have such fun reading them during writers group.

Andrea Fitcha

Picture
She's an author and illustrator. Andrea has written picture books and articles for magazines. She's in the process of finishing up a middle grade novel and she's working on more along with young adult fiction as well. Andrea has illustrated magazine covers, puzzles for magazines, and even created stamps for a company.

Heidi Schultz

Picture
Heidi is no longer in my critique group but she's just too good not to include her. Her abundant writing shows up on her fun blog, Frantically Simple. Heidi's novel, Hook's Revenge, coming out in 2014. Her other book Giraffe's Ruin Everything will be out 2015.

Timothy

He's the talented teen in the group. My stars, when his scifi books come out and he has a website and I have permission to plaster his full name right here then I will! His novels and short stories are so fascinating; he creates complexity without creating confusion. I'll be first in line to buy his books. And then I'll tell you where you can get them.

Other writing organizations or Helps
(I'll add more as I come across them)

Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators

Picture
SCBWI is such a great help in learning the world of writing and illustrating for children. I love going to my region's events.

National Novel Writing Month

Picture
NaNoWriMo is every November, a frantic writing pace to reach 50k words in only one month. It's been a great help in kickstarting me to get four novels complete (rough draft right now but still...).

Willamette Writers

Picture
A writer's organization in Oregon that has conferences, area meetings, and other helpful things of that sort. (They focus on more than children's literature.)

Picture
Marian Scadden, author of stage plays, fiction for young people, and other stuff
